Struggling to Begin

I have heard this audio on Instagram many times before and it really stuck with me. It goes along the line of 'Being an artist is really weird, some days you hate everything you make, and other days, you think you are magical.'

Lately I have not liked what I've been making, but other people tell me its beautiful or cute or that they really like it. Trying to start Byers Homemade that way has been a struggle. I look forward to the moment when I get that feeling, the 'aha!' moment that crafters great when they start work on something they are truly excited and passionate about. This is when you feel content, excited, soothed, creative, and what many crafters are after when they create.

Summer has always been tough for me as a crafter, the heat makes it hard to really thing about anything to do with yarn or wool or fabric. I end up starting and ripping back projects constantly.

But today, i could feel the hint of fall, the cooler weather, the chillier nights. It's renewed my inspiration.

Here's to seeing what the next season produces for my brand new business and my creativity.
